ESL Class
Fridays, 11:30am
Is English your second language? Work on pronunciation, grammar, and expanding your vocabulary in this free class taught by our experienced language teacher. This class is open to anyone who wants to work on their English speaking and writing abilities. This class is also open to Spanish speaking individuals who would like to work on their Spanish writing abilities. This is a FREE class.

Photography Class & Group

This group began after a presentation by Boon, a volunteer who has photography experience. The group have been meeting and covering everything from how to use your camera, how to set up a picture and so much more. Come join them. This is a FREE class.
Writing Class & Group
Fridays, 1:30 pm
Many have said they want to take a writing class. Here is your opportunity to join this class/group and work with a published writer to develop those writing skills. This is a FREE class.
Drawing & Painting Class
Tuesdays, 10am-12pm
Taught by Artist and Teacher Susan Schneider
Everyone welcome—basic techniques to advanced practicum. Please bring your materials. Some materials are provided. Susan, a local and well known artist of Ballard, welcomes all beginners and drop-ins, and encourages them to join her wonderful class. Intermediate and Experienced artists will also enjoy learning from her. The watercolor to the right is an example of Susan's superb talent. $10/class
NEW! Oil Painting Class

Taught by Artist and Teacher Tom O’Brien
Here is your opportunity to learn oil painting. Please bring materials, some materials provided. (Max. 9) Tom is an experienced and talented painter, who excells at painting beautiful landscapes. Piano Lessons

It is never too late to learn to play! This class will focus on Classical, Contemporary, and/or Jazz.

Fitness Classes & Activities
Zumba
Tuesday, 11:00am-12:00pm
When participants see a Zumba class, they will want to join in. Dance and aerobics, for great fitness, flexibility, coordination, and balance. Before you know it, you will be getting fit and improving your energy levels. Cost: $5/class

Gentle Yoga
Thursdays 9:30am-10:45am
Practice positions to build strength and flexibility while deepening relaxation. All abilities are welcome. Certified yoga instructor. Please pick up punch card at reception on the 2nd floor. $5/class
Laughter Yoga
Thursdays 11:00am – 11:50am
Laugh your way to good physical and mental health. These classes introduce the techniques to effectively exchange your oxygen, by ridding you of old oxygen and bring in new oxygen. These exercises are done through Lively Laughter, movement, stretching, humming meditation, and eye contact. Certified Laughter Yoga Instructor. No floor mats or floor work required. Drop-ins are always welcome. This is a FREE class.
Tai Chi
Mondays, 8:45am-9:45am
Tai Chi is practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits. Accurate, repeated practice of the exercise routine is said to encourage better posture, benefit circulation, increase flexibility in joints, and hone coordination. Our instructor is a well known instructor of Tai Chi, who is interested in teaching students that wonderful art form. $10 per class
Enhance Fitness Monthly Classes
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 8:45am, 10:45am, 3:30pm
One hour classes are lead by a trained, certified instructors. These classes focus on strength training, balance, aerobics and stretching. All levels are welcome. $25/month or Approved Group Health Participants can quailfy for no fee. Classes take place here at the Ballard NW Senior Center. To sign up just stop by the Upstairs Reception desk to get the form, decide on which class to attend (the Early Morning, Late Morning, or Afternoon Class), and then pay for your month of Enhanced Fitness. Billiards
Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-4:30pm
Friday, 12pm-4:30pm
Practice or compete with other players of this wonderful sport. The Billiard room is available all day, except Friday mornings for groups or individuals to play. Beginners to experts will enjoy utilizing our professionally maintained Pool Table. This is a FREE activity.
Table Tennis / Ping Pong
Wednesdays 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Also available on other days when available in the Exercise Room or Dining Room.
One of the most popular sports in the world, played in almost every country. The Exercise Room is available for groups or individuals to play Ping Pong. Beginners to experts will enjoy utilizing our Ping Pong Table. This is a FREE activity.
Foosball
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 12pm-3pm

Based on soccer, the game is fast and funny and everyone cheers and laughs. You can play for years and never get board. The Exercise Room is available for groups to play Foosball. Beginners to experts will enjoy utilizing our Foosball Table. This is a FREE activity.
Wii Sports & Fitness
Fridays 1:00pm
We now have Wii Fitness—are you looking for a way to get some FUN Exercise. We have an individual who is here to help you have fun and learn how to use the Wii Fitness program to improve your health. There are many types of activities and games to try with this program.
Other Classes
Computer Class
1st 3 Thursdays of the Month, 1pm-2:30pm
From web searches to email and beyond. If you have a question, then we have the answer. Come get involved in this class and learn some computer skills. Limit 6 people. Pre-registration reguired. $5/class
AARP Mature Driver Safety two day Class
AARP offers the popular Driver Safety Program for drivers 50 years and older. Graduates may be eligible for multi-year discounts on their auto insurance. Participants must attend both days of class to complete the course. $12 for AARP members, (remember to bring your AARP member card) and $14 for non-AARP members.

Wednesday Dinner
Every Wednesday, 5:00pm
The kitchen is bustling with activity every Wednesday to bring you wonderful meals including all the best food groups. Expect dishes including salads, vegetables, starches, breads & desserts. Please contact the Center at 206-297-0403 for additional information and to reserve your place. Cost: $7
Dinner & Movie
Every Wednesday we show a new movie on our 52” TV. Our theatre includes wonderfully comfortable chairs and choice seating. (Dinner $7, Movie Donation $2)
Dinner & Bingo
Every Wednesday. Have you ever screamed “BINGO!” Join us on Wednesday for our weekly bingo night for a fantastic night of chance and luck! (Dinner $7, Bingo Buy In $6)
