2014 Volunteer of the Year
We are proud to introduce Stephen Sill as the 2014 Volunteer of the Year. Stephen Sill (seen to the left) is a dedicated volunteer and an inspiration to many. This summer he supervised several volunteer groups working through Vona, one of which is pictured above. These groups took on the rewarding challenge of landscaping, pruning, and making repairs around the Ballard NW Senior Center. This is only one of the many projects Steve has been a part of at the Ballard NW Senior Center.
Quilt & Crafts Fair & Bake Sale
Thanks to all the Quilters, Crafters, Bakers and Volunteers for the wonderful 1st Quilt & Craft Fair & Bake Sale. It was a lovely day and a big success. Each of you provided quality items. You are talented and supportive of your center. Thanks for making it a very special event at the Ballard NW Senior Center.
At Large in Ballard: Women of the Book
First there was a room without a real purpose; someone proposed they build a bookcase and have books for borrowing. Then shelves overflowed and they wanted more bookcases, and so it became a bookstore. It’s a bookstore open to the public that too few people know exists, run by a dedicated group I like to call the women of the book at the Ballard Senior Center. Read more on the Ballard News-Tribune.
Thank you Cathy, Al, Jan and everyone who participated in this wonderful event. Great fun and great people created the perfect party and fundraiser for the Ballard NW Senior Center.
