Financial Assistance Services - FREE
1st Thursdays, 10:00am-12:00pm
30 Minute Consultations

Job Bank

The Job Bank currently lists over 168 people who have listed their skills in everything from caregiving to home repairs. The Job Bank is a matching database that usually gives 3-6 referrals (if available). You can then contract them and choose if you wish to hire one, all, or none of them. Legal Consultations - FREE & Low Cost
Starting in April - 4th Thursday, 10:00am-12:00pm
Attorney at Law Ruth Emily Vogel offers free initial meetings to discuss legal topics at Ballard NW Senior Center. Thank you Clif Johnson for your many years of service. We welcome Ruth to the Legal Assistance Program.

Meals on Wheels
Provided by Sound Generations, (206) 448-5767 Monday-Friday.

Minor Home Repair
Monday to Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm
Service is available to homeowners in Seattle.  It allows you to have a professional do minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs for only $10 per hour plus the cost of parts.  You only have to apply once, and then can ask for assistance for 3 years. If you do not want to fill out the paperwork, they will even send someone out to do it for you.  This is a service of Sound Generations at (206) 448-5751.

Are you alone or lonely? Are you concerned about your medical condition? Would you like to be active in your community? Let us help! This program will pair you up with a trained volunteer to provide companionship and support.

You are just a phone call away from referrals to a wide range of services, including Family and Caregiver Support, Food Assistance, Transportation Assistance, Legal and Financial, Health Care and Insurance Assistance, Fitness and Wellness Programs, Home Repair help, and more.

PNA VILLAGE
We are partnering with PNA to bring this impressive program to Ballard.  This is a great program providing many services for seniors to stay in their own community as they age.  There are many services available and opportunities to volunteer.  For more information contact Center Director Carlye, or another staff member by calling the center at (206) 297-0403. POWERFUL TOOLS FOR CAREGIVERS
A Class for Family Caregivers

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational program designed to help family caregivers take care of themselves while caring for a relative or friend.  You will benefit from this class whether you are helping a parent, spouse, friend, someone who lives at home, in a nursing home, or across the country. 

This class series meets once a week for six weeks. Class size is limited and registration is required.

Welcome our new social worker, Carleen.  We are so pleased to welcome her on board.  She will be leading groups, providing informed help, support, listening and counseling, and will be active and involved here at the center.  To read more about Carleen's educational and employment experience, view her bio on our Staff and Board page.

Our Social Worker is here to help you, your family, your friends and our community.  The Social Worker has many services to offer (advocacy, emotional support, counseling, resource gathering, referrals, support groups, classes).  If you need someone to help or just to listen, visit or call the second floor reception desk at (206) 297-0403 to schedule an appointment.

VFW - Veterans of Foreign Wars
3rd Thursdays    1:00pm - 2:00pm
Started August 18th, 2016
VFW is comprised of 2.4 million members with approximately 9,000 posts worldwide.  Its mission is to "honor the dead by helping the living" through veterans' service, community service, national security, and a strong national defense.  We will provide you with information, answer your questions, and do our best to assist you in any way we can.  We look forward to working with the Ballard NW Senior Center's Veterans.  For an appointment please see the second floor receptionist or call us at (206) 297-0403.
