Carlye - Director

I am delighted to have you visit the Ballard Senior Center web site. Welcome! I am Carlye Teel the Director of the Ballard Northwest Senior Center. I have been the Director here for over 20 years and I love what I do. Everyday provides an opportunity to help, make a difference, learn and connect with the wonderful people that come to this warm, friendly and caring center. I love working with my fine staff, all the fantastic volunteers, the participants, community and everyone that helps to make this center such a terrific place. I am happily married, have 2 wonderful children and 4 fantastic grandkids all of whom are the pride and joy of my life. I enjoy traveling, wish I had time to do more, being with family and friends, reading, golf, being involved in the community and with my Rotary Club and other volunteer activities. I look forward to meeting you, please come and see what this center is all about.

Kristina - Administrative Assistant

Welcome to the best Senior Center in town! My name is Kristina Webberley. I first got introduced to the Ballard NW Senior Center through my volunteer work, and when I found out that there was an opening for an Administrative Assistant I applied immediately. A few years ago, I graduated from Western Washington University with a BA in Accounting, and since then I have worked as an Administrative Assistant for two companies. I have only been a member of the staff here for a little while, but I already love working here. My co-workers, the volunteers, and the wonderful people, who attend the Center, make every work day fantastic. I currently and have always lived in Ballard, and I am proud that my career is helping to make it a better place to live.
Lauren - Program Coordinator
As the new Program Coordinator for Ballard Northwest Senior Center, I'm elated to say that I've never had a job where I get paid for laughing every day!
After fourteen years of working as a road warrior for a textbook publishing company traveling throughout Washington and Oregon, I look forward to my five minute commute to work and being home each night for dinner .
Here’s a little bit about who I am.
Growing up in Maine I was very close to my Grandmother. She taught me how to bake, how to sew, how to find natural herbs in the woods and, in general, about life. She also taught me about some of the hard realities of life, like competition. We played Scrabble all the time – and I never once beat her. Her sense of humor, her wit and her inner strength helped to mold who I am today.
I’m so looking forward to immersing myself into my new position and becoming part of the Ballard Northwest Senior Center’s Family!
Bob - Nutrition Site Manager

Hi, I'm Bob. I’m the new Nutrition Site Manager here at Ballard Senior Center. I really enjoy my job and love working with the seniors and the great staff here. I live in Shoreline and I have two great dogs. Why don't you come on down and try our lunch some time.
Scott - Social Services

Hi, I’m Scott. Mondays & Thursdays I’m at the Center offering free counseling, personal coaching & problem-solving services. The Center, for me, is like a family, and I really enjoy it. Among my varied interests are people, travel & cross-cultural experiences such as my work on Indian reservation in the northwest & southwest U.S. & with the Peace Corps in Brazil.
