Oktoberfest


Oktoberfest is Tonight!

WITH MUSICIAN JIM TOBLER
Thursday, October 23rd, 6:00pm-8:00pm

This will be a fantastic event. Just look at the menu! Remember you can sign up at the door. If you have time, please call to tell us you are coming, not required, but it does make the wonderful cooking easier to plan.

Menu: Enjoy your Oktoberfest beer with a cucumber salad seasoned with homemade mustard dressing, hot German potato salad, Caraway cabbage and apples, and German brand smoked sausage and sauerkraut, followed by an oven baked apple crisp dessert. Yum!

Enjoy a fantastic autumn meal prepared to perfection and the fun music of musician Jim Tobler on the Accordion. Tickets: $15. Tickets available at 206-297-0403 and at the event.

Soiree 2014 Senior Services

You’re Invited: Senior Services 31st Annual Gala Dinner & Auction
 


Join us for the 31st Annual Soirée, Gala Dinner and Auction, on Saturday, November 1, at the Museum of Flight. The silent auction and reception begin at 6 p.m., followed at 7:30 p.m. by a performance by Sensible Shoes, the Seattle Women’s Chorus pop and vocal jazz ensemble, dinner, and live auction.

 

The evening’s emcee is KIRO 7 anchor and reporter Monique Ming Laven, who is also a volunteer driver for Senior Services’ transportation program. Auctioneer for the evening is Stephen Kilbreath. Please note, this is now a black-tie OPTIONAL event. RSVP now.

Veteran's Day


CLASSICAL CONCERT - FREE

Friday, November 7th, 12:30pm-1:30pm

Musicians Kristine Anderson and Brian Fairbanks will delight us with music on the classical flute and piano after lunch. Kristine is a piano accompanist-in residence at the UW, several churches, and a Member of Ballard NW Senior Center. Brain is the music director at St. Mark's Cathedral where he preforms. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear beautiful music that will be preformed at a future cathedral concert. Pieces will include "Summer Music" by William Bennett and much more.


VETERANS’ DAY CELEBRATION
Monday, November 10th, 12:30pm-1:30pm

The Center honors all our Veterans for their support and commitment to our nation. Please join us November 10th at 12:30 for our tribute to our Veterans. You are each deeply appreciated for your service to our country. You and your families have sacrificed much and we say thank you and job well done! We will be closed November 11 to honor you.

All your holiday shopping in one place – the Center’s Holiday Bazaar. We are so fortunate to have been given all the new books, journals and cards to benefit our center. So, come get all your holiday gifts and cards for everyone on your list. Handcrafted items, new gifts, books, holiday cards, and treasured items from holidays past. There is something here for everyone on your list or for you! Plus delicious baked goodies! Donations of gently used and new holiday items are being accepted. We are also collecting supplies to make wonderful items. Call us at 206-297-0403 if you have questions. We will pick up items!

Chef Bob and crew prepare two holiday lunch feasts that
will amaze. These are required sign up lunches. The Thanksgiving feast is on Monday, November 24th at 2:00pm. Bob prepares turkey with all the traditional accompaniments: mashed potatoes, dressing, veggies, salad, pumpkin pie. Yummy! Santa Lunch on Monday, December 22nd, complete with Santa and Gifts. Please get this on your and your family’s calendars now. Enjoy a delicious and festive breakfast with pancakes,
plain or blueberry, eggs, ham, OJ, coffee, tea or milk. Then get your picture, a family picture and all of the kids pictures with Santa. Mrs. Claus will be present, too. There will be hundreds of new kids and teens books for purchase, for great reading or perfect for gifts for kids or teens on your list. Holiday card sets and holiday books will also be available. What a day! Breakfast $5 (kids under ten only $3), Santa pictures $20, and new books – priced as marked.

IRISH TENORS HOLIDAY CONCERT

The world renowned and famous Irish Tenors are coming to Benaroya Hall on Tuesday, December 16th at 7:30pm to perform their magnificent Holiday Concert to benefit the Center.
